“You are most welcome to our website and to our parish church not only to experience God’s powerful presence in this holy place but also to cherish the friendship of our spiritual community."
Our Historic Rochester is a land of Saints and Martyrs. The land where our Catholic church stands in Priestsfields, was a portion of land which had originally been given by King Ethelbert to St Augustine for the support of the secular priests who first served Rochester in the Seventh Century.
Our patron Saint, St John Fisher was a great theologian. He was Bishop of Rochester from 1505 to 1535.
St William of Perth, who is also known as St William of Rochester, was born in Scotland and was martyred in Rochester while on pilrgamage.
Fr Gerard and  Fr Dickinson, cast away on the shores of Kent after surviving a violent storm, were sentenced to death for high treason for coming to England as priests. They both suffered with constancy in Rochester in 1590.
Our parish community still keeps that remnant of the faith of those Saints and Martyrs in their words and deeds and spread that faith to others. You are most welcome to our parish not only to experience God’s powerful presence in this holy place but also to cherish the friendship of our spiritual community.

Blessings,
Fr Antony M. Sellam
Parish priest

THE FOLK GROUP in our church, (consisting at present of three guitarists and one treble recorder player), play for every Sunday evening Mass at 6 pm and occasionally for a morning Mass, if needed.  They also play for the First Communion and Confirmation Masses, (which both take place once a year), plus weddings and funerals when required.  Christmas and Easter services are always top priority for them too.
